 What is PolyU ILLiad?

PolyU ILLiad is an automated interlibrary loan management system that enable eligible users to :

  submit online interlibrary loan and document delivery requests
  make book renewal requests *
  review the statuses of requests
  check the due dates of outstanding loans
  review completed requests
     
  * Available to staff and PG students only.

 

 Copyright Restriction

The ILL Services are provided in compliance with the Hong Kong copyright laws. We reserve the right not to process any photocopying requests that may violate the said law. Please observe the following Copyright Declaration which is stated on request form and must be declared when submitting request.

1. I declare that if a copy is supplied to me in compliance with the request made above, I will use it for the purpose of my research or private study only and not for circulation or further reproduction or any other purpose.
2. To the best of my knowledge, no other person with whom I work or study has made or intends to make, at or about the same time as this request, a request for substantially the same material for substantially the same purpose.
3. I declare that, in the case of articles in periodicals, I have not been previously supplied with a copy of the said article or with copies of more than one article contained in the same issue of the periodical, and in the case of parts of published works, a copy of the same material or with a copy of more than a reasonable proportion of the work.
4. I understand that if I make a false declaration and I am supplied with a copy which would have been an infringing copy if made by me
  a) I am liable for infringement of copyright as if I had made the copy myself ;
  b) The copy will be treated as an infringing copy.
5. I undertake to accept the full responsibility of this photocopying and indemnify this Library and the University any liability incurred in relation to this photocopying should a dispute concerning copyright infringement arise.

 Turnaround Time

Generally speaking, local materials from other UGC libraries will normally take about 1 to 2 weeks whereas materials from overseas may take longer time up to 2 months depending on the type of material, availability and its source.

 

 Notification Method

[Top]  

Interlibrary loan and document delivery notices, including loan pick up, overdue notices are sent via email for all staff and students through their registered PolyU email accounts.

 

 Article Delivery / Pick-up

[Top]  

The document will be either supplied to you in print or electronic copy. You will receive a notification email after the requested items arrive at our Library. The delivery method is shown as follows:

   E- copy:

  Download the file through your PolyU ILLiad account.
 

   Print Copy:

Student

Deliver to your correspondence address.


Collect the article from the Circulation Counter on the P/F.

 

 Loan Pick-up & Return

Upon receipt of pick up notice by email, please collect the loan item from the Circulation Counter on the P/F as soon as possible.

Loan items can only be returned to the Circulation Counter.

 

 Loan Period

Loan periods vary depending on the interlibrary loan policies of lending libraries. Please observe the due date printed on date due slip of the loan item. You may also check due date of individual loan items via PolyU ILLiad .

 

 Late Return & Penalty

[Top]  

The Library reserves the right to suspend any interlibrary loan and document delivery activity and privilege for a patron holding overdue item(s).

 

 Renewal

[Top]  

Please make an online renewal request* via PolyU ILLiad.  Renewal request is accepted only within 6 days before due date and is subject to the approval of the lending library. We will notify you the renewal outcome by email.

* Online renewal is only available to staff and PG students.
