  Definition of Request Statuses


   1.  Logon

  On the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services webpage, click   or  PolyU ILLiad.

  Type in your NetID and NetPassword.  Click the Login button. Make sure you have already
set up your Library PIN before logging on to ILLiad.

     
  Your request quota information will be shown.  Click the Logon to ILLiad button.
     
 
 

   2.  To Make a Request

  In the New Request table of the PolyU ILLiad Main Menu, click the button for Photocopy, Book, Conference Paper, Patent or Thesis to open the appropriate request form. Please refer to What can be requested.*
 
 
  Enter the information as much as possible.
     
  Click Submit Request button to send the request.
     
 

   3.  To Input Chinese Characters

  In the Internet Explorer, set Encoding to Chinese Traditional (Big 5) before filling in the request form.
 
 
 

   4.  To View Request Statuses

[Top]   
 
  IIn the View table of the Main Menu, click the button for Outstanding Requests, Checked out Items, Cancelled Requests, Request History or All Requests as appropriate to display the corresponding page with the statuses of the requests.
 
 
 

   5.  To View an Outstanding Request

[Top]   
 
  Click to open the Outstanding Requests page. The statuses of requests will be displayed, including the book renewal requests awaiting approval.
 
     
  Click a Transaction number, e.g. 1353, to view the details of a request.
     
 
 

   6.  To Make an Online Renewal Request

[Top]   
 
  Click to open the Checked Out Items page and to make book renewal request. The statuses of requests will be displayed.
 
     
  Click the Transaction number of the item you want to renew, e.g. 40531.
     
     
  Click on the Detailed Information page of a request.
     
     
  You will be informed of the outcome of the renewal request by email.
     
 

   7.  To View Documents Received for Web Delivery

[Top]   
 
  In the View table of the PolyU ILLiad Main Menu, click . The Electronic Articles page will be displayed.
     
     
  Under the View column, click to open the Electronic Articles you want to view.
     
 
  +  Articles posted for web delivery will remain accessible by the requester for 30 days from the date of posting.
     
 

   8.  To View an Email Notification

  Click to open the Email Notification page
     
     
  Click the subject of the item you want to view, e.g. Interlibrary Loan Book Renewal Accepted - TN: 9249
     
 
 

   9.  To Search any request you have submitted

[Top]   
 
  You can type any word in search text box to search your submitted requests .
     
     
  Type any word in search text box, and click the Search button to search your submitted requests.
e.g. journal.
     
 
* Active - To search all not yet finished or not yet cancelled requests.
  All - To search all requests.
     
  Results from your search are listed in Search Results page. Clicking on the transaction number for any item will take you to the detailed information.
     
 
 

   10.  Definition of Request Statuses

Definition
   
Awaiting Conditional Processing : 
  Request has been sent to a potential lender and is now being processed.
   
Awaiting Customer Contact : 
  Item has arrived and pick up notice will be sent to user by email soon.
   
Awaiting Endorsement Processing : 
  An email has been sent to lecturer for endorsement, awaiting reply.
   
Awaiting Other Request Processing : 
  An email has been sent to user seeking further clarification about the request, awaiting user's reply.
   
Awaiting Post Receipt Processing : 
  Item has arrived but is not yet ready for pick up.
   
Awaiting Reapplication Processing : 
  Item has been requested from lender(s) unsuccessfully and is now awaiting further processing.
   
Awaiting Receipt Verification Processing : 
  Lender has sent us the item but ILL office has not yet received it.
   
Awaiting Renewal Accept Processing : 
  Renewal for this request is successful. ILL staff will notify the user about the revised due date.
   
Awaiting Renewal Denied Processing : 
  Renewal for this request is unsuccessful. ILL staff will notify the user about this outcome.
   
Awaiting Request Processing : 
  Request has been received from user and in process.
   
Awaiting Unfilled Processing : 
  Item has been requested from lender (s) unsuccessfully and is now awaiting a decision by ILL staff as to how to proceed next.
   
Cancelled by Customer : 
  User has cancelled the request and no longer requires the item.
   
Cancelled by ILL Staff : 
  ILL staff has cancelled the request and the user has been notified of the cancellation.
   
Checked Out to Customer : 
  Item received and has been checked out to the user.
